Science communication

Highlights include 14 years with CSIRO Australia, where I wrote and edited all kinds of publications. I also spent nine years with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research (via Netcompany-Intrasoft), covering all EU-funded research. I had periods with other European agencies and the Earth Observatory of Singapore. I recently wrote for TERN Australia, a national ecological monitoring agency. I also worked for MDPI as a scientific editor.

I have done every form of popular and technical science writing at an elite level. Suffice to say that I’m really good at it. My articles have been reprinted nationally and internationally. I have also won or been nominated for major awards. Apart from extensive knowledge of most branches of science, I also I possess the language and explanatory skills necessary to interpret and re-express difficult concepts appropriately for any audiences.

In spite of the above expertise, I regard myself as a science generalist. That’s the higher calling since it reflects nature’s actual interconnectedness.

I still love this subject and I’d like to remain involved.
